A professional visit of Bulgarian music professionals took place in Warsaw between 8 and 11 December, which was extremely successful and fruitful. The initiative was organized by the Bulgarian Music Association in partnership with Culture Hub Poland and Music Week Poland and brought together 10 representatives of the Bulgarian music industry from various fields – artist management, club and concert activities, independent labels, communications and digital services.
The program of the visit was carefully prepared with a focus on the real functioning of the Polish music ecosystem and the opportunities for professional exchange. Within the four days, the participants visited a number of key music clubs, cultural spaces, companies and organizations in Warsaw, and had the opportunity to get acquainted with different models of work, from concert production and programming, through PR and marketing, to digital platforms, publishing and synchronization. The meetings were structured as in-depth conversations and discussions, which provided an opportunity to share specific practices, challenges and working solutions.
A particularly valuable element of the program was the opportunity for direct dialogue with Polish professionals, managers, media representatives, independent companies and cultural organizations. In these meetings, not only the specifics of the local market were discussed, but also potential points of intersection between the Bulgarian and Polish scenes, including artist exchanges, future concert events, joint projects and partnerships at the club and festival levels.
During the visit, the Bulgarian delegation also visited the Bulgarian Cultural Institute in Warsaw, where a meeting was held dedicated to the opportunities for a more active presentation of Bulgarian music in Poland. The discussions focused on future joint initiatives, support for international mobility of artists and long-term cooperation between institutional and independent structures.
The professional visit enabled the participants not only to gain a better understanding of the Polish music market, but also to rethink their own practices in a broader European context. The meetings and discussions clearly demonstrated the importance of personal contact, trust and a long-term approach in building sustainable international partnerships.
The visit to Warsaw is part of the project “Export and Sustainable Positioning of the Bulgarian Music Scene on the International Market”, through which the Bulgarian Music Association consistently works to expand international opportunities for Bulgarian music professionals and for the sustainable integration of Bulgarian music into the European cultural ecosystem.
