Bulgarian participation with a strong presence at MENT Ljubljana
24 February 2026

The Bulgarian music scene celebrated another successful international participation within the framework of the project “Export and Sustainable Positioning of the Bulgarian Music Scene on the International Market” of the Bulgarian Music Association. This time the focus was on one of the leading showcase events in Central and Eastern Europe MENT Ljubljana, where two Bulgarian projects presented our country to an international audience of festival selectors, booking agents, managers and media.

On February 19, TDK took to the stage at Menza pri koritu and presented an intense and impactful set, distinguished by their characteristic sound and strong stage presence. The concert took place in front of a full club and attracted the attention of the professional audience and led to subsequent conversations and new contacts.

The following evening, Mono and the Stereos performed in front of the audience at Orto Bar – Klub, where they offered a dynamic and confident performance, combining melodiousness and modern alternative energy. Here too, the hall was full, and their participation aroused strong interest and active reaction from the international delegates.

After both concerts, a number of professional meetings were held, and both bands received invitations for future participation in festivals in France and Serbia.

In parallel with the concert program, the Bulgarian Music Association organized a professional meeting in the form of Bulgarian Chat & Bites in the space of Kino Šiška. The event brought together representatives of the international music industry and created an environment for direct exchange, new partnerships and concrete opportunities for cooperation. The format allowed for in-depth conversations and reinforced the association’s strategic approach to building sustainable international contacts.

Participation in MENT Ljubljana is another step in the systematic work on positioning Bulgarian artists on the European showcase scene. The presentation of the two groups confirms the growing interest in contemporary Bulgarian music and its potential for international development.

Stage Map | BG is the result of the two-year project for wide-ranging mapping of the music sector in the country, which the BMA launched in 2020 as part of its sectoral initiatives. The aim of the project is to improve information provision and support the development of effective cultural policies and financing mechanisms.

The application is open to all stage spaces in Bulgaria, offering easy and quick access to an extensive array of data. This enables artists-performers to plan their activities without wasting time on additional research, making the process more efficient and easy.

We believe that this product will be of great benefit not only to the music sector, but also to all other performing arts, helping to facilitate their integration and development in the cultural scene of Bulgaria.
