Bulgarian Music Association with a national stand at Jazzahead! 2025
27 April 2025

For the fifth year, the Bulgarian Music Association organized a national stand at one of the most prestigious international jazz music events – Jazzahead! in Bremen, Germany. The event brought together over 2,000 professionals from all over the world – artists, managers, festival organizers, media and key figures from the music industry.

The BMA’s national stand presented the richness and potential of the Bulgarian jazz scene to the international audience, creating real opportunities for new partnerships, joint projects and an increased presence of Bulgarian musicians on the world stage.

This year, 7 festivals and 22 projects by established and young jazz performers were presented, and a digital catalog was prepared especially for the exhibition, which you can view HERE.

The initiative was attended by 10 delegates, including representatives of A to Jazz Festival, Bansko Jazz Festival, Brass Association and Elen Music, as well as artists such as Kamelia Todorova, Milen Kukosharov and Simeon Zhelyazkov C-Mo.

The participation at Jazzahead! 2025 opened up new opportunities for collaborations and conversations about future projects, but also proved that Bulgarian jazz deserves a place among the best global examples of the genre.

JazzAhead! is an annual professional jazz music event held in Bremen, Germany since 2006 and includes a trade show, conference and showcase festival with participants from Europe and overseas.

The BMA stand is organized with the financial support of the National Culture Fund.

Stage Map | BG is the result of the two-year project for wide-ranging mapping of the music sector in the country, which the BMA launched in 2020 as part of its sectoral initiatives. The aim of the project is to improve information provision and support the development of effective cultural policies and financing mechanisms.

The application is open to all stage spaces in Bulgaria, offering easy and quick access to an extensive array of data. This enables artists-performers to plan their activities without wasting time on additional research, making the process more efficient and easy.

We believe that this product will be of great benefit not only to the music sector, but also to all other performing arts, helping to facilitate their integration and development in the cultural scene of Bulgaria.
