On January 7, 2025, a regular General Assembly of the Bulgarian Music Association (BMA) was held, at which the new Management Board and Control Board of the organization were elected with a mandate of three years. The Assembly was attended by 76 members who were present in person or by proxy.

After voting, the members re-elected the same Management for the new term. The new lineup includes:

  • Brazz Association, represented by Marina Vasileva
  • Bogdan Tomov

As a result of changes in the organization’s Statute made in 2023, the council now includes two reserve members – Yasen Kozev and Deyan Kamenov.

During the General Assembly, those present re-elected Krasimira Gyosheva and Vasil Gyurov from the composition of the Control Council from the previous term, and after the resignation of the previous chairman, Vasil Vasilev, a place in the council was taken by Niya Petrova. The new chairman of the Control Board is Krasimira Gyosheva.

On the same day, the newly elected Management Board held its first meeting, at which it elected the former prof. Hristo Yotsov, and Mila Georgieva for vice-chairman.

The Bulgarian Music Association expresses its gratitude to all members for their active participation in the meeting and wishes the newly elected governing bodies success in their work. During the next three-year term, they will take responsibility for the development of the organization and will continue to represent and protect the interests of professional music performers in Bulgaria, uniting them, expressing and defending their positions, maintaining balance and dialogue in relations with state institutions and creating policies that stand the test of time.

The “Musical Guide to Stage Spaces in Bulgaria” is the result of the two-year project for wide-ranging mapping of the music sector in the country, which the BMA launched in 2020 as part of its sectoral initiatives. The aim of the project is to improve information provision and support the development of effective cultural policies and financing mechanisms.

The application is open to all stage spaces in Bulgaria, offering easy and quick access to an extensive array of data. This enables artists-performers to plan their activities without wasting time on additional research, making the process more efficient and easy.

We believe that this product will be of great benefit not only to the music sector, but also to all other performing arts, helping to facilitate their integration and development in the cultural scene of Bulgaria.

The app will be free for download at the end of January 2025.
